For many of us, the day we became members of our respective organizations is one we will never forget. We become part of something much greater than ourselves. For members of Black Greek Letter Organizations (BGLOs), the journey doesn’t end with the probate, it begins. Honoring a Rich Heritage
The Divine Nine—Alpha Phi Alpha, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Delta Sigma Theta, Phi Beta Sigma, Zeta Phi Beta, Sigma Gamma Rho, and Iota Phi Theta—were all founded during times of social adversity. These organizations served not only as support systems on segregated campuses, but as vehicles of advocacy, service, and leadership for the Black community.
